My approach

My approach is informed by frameworks including the Health At Every Size (R) framework, the intuitive eating principles, and the
RAVES Model for Eating Disorders.  I hold space for what my clients have been through, and recognise the harms of diet culture, fatphobia and systems of oppression and how these can show up in eating and body image concerns.

I provide nutrition care that is:

Weight inclusive
No diets, no weigh-ins, no body shaming.  Instead, guidance to support a more peaceful relationship with food, your body and yourself, exactly as you are.

Trauma informed
Our work together will always be consent based and driven by what you feel safe enough to try out if or when you feel ready.

Gender affirming
Your gender identity will always be affirmed during our work together.

Neuro-affirming
Nutrition guidance will always honour your sensory needs, food preferences and lived experience.

Client centred
Whatever we explore or experiment with to support your relationship with food and your body will always be guided by you and what you would find most supportive for your individual circumstances.

Rather than providing weight loss advice, I can work with you on supporting your overall health and wellbeing and finding a sense of ease with food and peace with your body, just as you are.  Throughout our work together, your relationship with food, your body and yourself will always be prioritised.

How it works

Get in touch
You are welcome to book your first online appointment, or get in touch to ask any questions you may have to see if I might be the right dietitian for you.
Your first appointment
This time together is an opportunity for us to start to explore how you are feeling about food and your body.  We will explore your current eating patterns, your past experiences with food and your body, as well as any relevant medical history.  We might get through this information in the first session or it might take a few, depending on how our conversation goes.  We can take our time, and there will be no rush.
Ongoing support
In our follow up sessions together we will start to explore your relationship with food and your body further, and gently start to experiment with strategies to support you in working towards feeling better as you feel ready to.  Anything we discuss or experiment with will be at your pace, and we can work together for as long as you like.
