Hi! I'm Melissa O'Loughlan,
|
I know from my experience working with women in my practice as well as my personal life, that the idea of letting go of the ‘thin me’ dream and daring to trust your own body can be met with some resistance.
It’s no wonder. In our society we’re constantly sent the message that in order to be happy/healthy/attractive/smart/acceptable that we must be small (literally and figuratively), and the way to get there is through some crazy diet or nutrition plan that contradicted the last one.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
I’d like to help you work through that ingrained thinking, so that you can let go of food guilt, enjoy all food and learn to appreciate your body exactly as it is right now. (Yes, that means no weight loss required!)
Feeling a little nervous about seeing a dietitian?
People often think of us as the 'food police' and fear that they will be shamed for their size and told that everything they are eating is wrong. That they will simply be told 'what' to eat, without being asked 'how?' or 'why?'.
You may have even had an experience like this in the past.
My mission for Body Confident Nutrition is for every woman who walks in my door (or sees me online!) to feel heard and supported to move towards a positive relationship to food and her body.
Everything we discuss will be taken into consideration to help you find peace with food and your body, exactly as you are right now. Your experiences matter.
Whether you're still a little unsure or if you're super keen to get started, I'm here to support you in learning to trust your body and move on from dieting. Because I know that you have so much more to offer the world than spending your life trying to make yourself smaller.
